Introduction to the principles of electromagnetic radiation and the physics of solar energy and earth environment interactions. Basic principles of aerial photographic interpretation, and of image analysis in a raster GIS environment. Applications of remote sensing to the mapping and monitoring of terrestrial and marine environments in North Queensland.
Learning Outcomes
- to introduce participants to the use and interpretation of primary sources of geographic information; analogue and digital approaches to image analysis; and image analysis in a raster GIS environment.
