This subject will focus on communicative English skills needed in the classroom with particular attention to the demands of utilising Standard Australian English in cross-cultural contexts. This subject will address a range of the elements of communication including grammar, vocabulary and communicative skills and functions as they apply in teaching across cultures.
Learning Outcomes
- acquire understandings and communicative skills necessary for teaching in cross-cultural contexts;
- develop confidence and autonomy in students classroom language use;
- integrate language skills in a communicative framework appropriate for cross-cultural teaching.
